In order to qualify for the Tournament of Champions, Aaron Kim and Mahi Shah needed to earn at least one qualifying bid from debate tournaments this year. They earned two bids when they arrived at the semifinals of both the Dowling Catholic and Gonzaga tournaments earlier this year.
